There is a comment that has been said to me often and I find it kind of funny:  “Were you born that way”?  I am always polite to whomever has said it but I always think to myself; ‘yeah, I was born burned’…lol.

Ok, people would not know what had happened to me but I think my scars look pretty much like burn scars.

This next story I am going to tell you is when someone knew exactly what had caused my scars.  Chris and I were away for a night and the hotel we were staying at had a bar downstairs; a place where locals and guests mixed.  We had gotten to know the staff and some of the locals in the bar, so the next day before we left, we decided to go and have a few drinks.

I was wearing a vest top, therefore, the scars on my arms were very much “on show”.  For some reason people don’t seem to notice my face, it is my arms that they notice more and of course my “claw” hand.

We had been talking to a local man and one of the bar staff.  I could see the local man looking and he said:  “That’s a bad burn you have there”.  I didn’t mind at all.  We had been chatting for ages and he obviously felt comfortable bringing my scars up.  I explained what had happened and the bar staff guy was very intrigued as well.  They were very interested and not just interested in staring at my scars.  They were so interested, that I ended up giving out the name of my website and channel, which was great, as it was another way of spreading the word.  There is always something good to come out of something horrible.
