BURN INJURY RECOVERY (PART 1)

Hi, you are “face to face with Shell”.

I know it has been a long time since I was burned, way back in 1984, however, I still remember vividly what it was like.

It felt like my injuries were taking over my whole life.

It was difficult and no one seemed to understand what I was going through.

I just want to say to other burn survivors, that it does get better and you will get through it.  It seems that all your life consists of is creaming, massage, garments, hospital appointments, and surgeries…these are all essential in your recovery.

I want to tell you that I do understand.  I can’t take it away from you, no one can; this is something that you have to go through yourself.  Try and remember though, that every positive thing you do for yourself, for your scars, for your skin; is an investment for your future.

As I have said before, I never wore my garments the way I should have and I have to live with that decision.  PLEASE KEEP GOING WITH THEM, THEY TRULY DO HELP!
