So, what do I mean by my “full face”? I mean my full make-up; mainly foundation.
There was a time when I would not go out without my “full face” on.
Before Chris and I went on our backpacking adventures, I would go nowhere without wearing my full coverage foundation; Estee Lauder, Double Wear, Maximum Cover. After trying all different foundations, I found this was the best for me.
If you would like to try it for yourself, please click on the link below:
While we were backpacking, Chris and I got lovely safe suntans. It was too hot to wear a “full face” of make-up, therefore, by going without my foundation during the day, I got a new, tanned colour of skin, which I loved. Then, if we were going out at night, I started not to wear my foundation then also.
I felt that there was no need to hide behind my make-up anymore. Yeah, without foundation, my skin didn’t appear as smooth but I didn’t care.
I have also mentioned before, that I didn’t seem to mind showing my scars on holiday but back home, I hid them. Don’t ask me why, I honestly have no explanation for this.
After we returned from our travels, I didn’t put foundation on. I realised, for me, there was no need to anymore.
I did use fake tan/gradual tan products (and still do) to keep up the colour I so love and to try and keep my skin tones even.
Below is my favourite gradual tan product, please click on the link below, if you would like to try it out for yourself:
I still wear other make-up; on my eyes, lips, etc., but I don’t feel the need to put on my “full face” all the time.
The only time I now wear my foundation, is when I am going to a special event and want to get really dressed-up, and pull out all the stops.
I am so glad that I now have the confidence to go out without my foundation on. For me, there is no need to “hide” behind it anymore.
I found more confidence actually through not wearing my “full face”, something I thought would never happen.
There was a time though that I needed the security of my foundation and that is ok if you feel like this just now. It took me years to go without my full make-up, so don’t worry. Hey, you may be someone that has never worn make-up and you are totally comfortable with not wearing it, that’s great too. We are all different.
There may even be a time where you come to actually love your scars. They are a part of you, they are a part of your life story, and you should be proud of your scars…they tell the story of how brave, of how courageous, and of how strong you are.
YOU ARE A BURNS WARRIOR
