I want to tell you another story; where my “fight or flight” response kicked in; unlike my story in “Part 3”, I took flight.
It took me a few years to get over my fear of going abroad on holiday. As you know, the first time I was in the explosion in Spain, then after a few years, once I got my confidence back up, I took another holiday abroad to Portugal, where I was involved in a bus crash! Luckily, neither me or any of my friends were injured but there were others that were. I just went into a bit of shock for a while afterwards. I couldn’t believe that something had happened again!
The next holiday abroad I took went without a hitch…thank goodness.
Getting back to my story; we were on holiday in the Dominican Republic. We were given a lovely little cottage/villa, it was beautiful but it wasn’t what we had booked, we had booked a large room, more of a suite. So the next day, we were moved.
The room that we were moved to was lovely; very spacious. Only problem; the air conditioning was leaking and had to be fixed. The maintenance men came up and whatever they were doing, they were using a blow torch and had a gas canister with them. I wasn’t impressed…lol.
I thought, right; “where can I go to get away from this situation”? I went behind a wall, into the dressing room and I remember thinking to myself that the wall was thick enough to withstand a small blast. In hindsight though, if there was a blast, the wall might have come down on top of me…
Everything was fine though and we had a great family holiday.
Stay strong and we’ll chat soon.
Before I go, I took some photos of Plean Country Park, which is where I filmed the video and I thought you might like to see how beautiful it is (2019):
